Berm
Level area separating a ditch from a bank on a hill-fort or barrow.
Billet
Norman ornament of small half-cylindrical or rectangular blocks.
Bivallate
Of a hill-fort: defended by two concentric banks and ditches.
Blade
In timber construction, one of the paired inclined timbers making up a cruck.
Blind arcade
A series of arches supported by piers or columns, applied to the wall surface.
Blind balustrade
A balustrade (a row of balusters) applied to the wall surface.

Blind tracery
Tracery applied to a solid wall.
Block capital
A capital shaped like a cube with rounded convex lower parts, common in Norman architecture.
