Architects

There are a few books and articles on individual Manchester ARCHITECTS:

  • J. H. G. Archer, 'Edgar Wood: a notable Manchester Architect' Transactions of the Lancashire and Cheshire Antiquarian Society, 73-4, 1963-4;
  • Anthony J. Pass, Thomas Worthington: Victorian Architecture and Social Purpose, 1988, is the only full-length published study of a Manchester architect;
  • C. Cunningham & P. Waterhouse, Alfred Waterhouse, 1830-1905: Biography of a Practice, 1992.
  • A short article on Edward Salamons by Rhona Beenstock appears in Manchester Region History Review, Vol. 10 1996.
  • The Transactions of the Lancashire and Cheshire Antiquarian Society, Vol. 92-3 1997 was devoted to subjects relating to the Manchester Diocese including a study of Cachemaille-Day's Manchester churches by Michael Bullen.
