Ashcroft's Buildings

Liverpool, Victoria St., No.21, Union House.

Designed by Hoult & Wise for James Ashcroft, and built in 1883. Ashcroft was a cabinetmaker and manufacturer of billiard tables, and the building housed his showrooms on the ground floor with workshops above. The flat roof was used for storing timber and the slate beds of billiard tables, and the corner turret was fitted up for photographing ‘new and special designs.’
